Angela Sturm-O’Brien, MD has recently joined FPSA as a new Associate. Dr. Sturm-O’Brien is board- certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, which examines its applicants in facial plastic surgery as well as, other head & neck specialties.

In addition to advanced training in facial plastic surgical techniques, Dr. Sturm- O’Brien has extensive training and expertise in non-surgical modalities for facial rejuvenation including, advanced laser techniques such as: Ulthera, Thermage and Fraxel. Her expertise also applies to laser treatment of birthmarks, unsightly veins, tattoo and laser hair removal.

Dr. Sturm-O’Brien attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and was awarded her M.D. in 2006. She completed residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 2011. After residency, Dr. Sturm-O’Brien entered the distinguished American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) Fellowship program and over the course of the year trained side-by-side with Dr. Russell Kridel to gain extensive expertise in cutting edge facial rejuvenation and head and neck surgical techniques. She also completed important clinical research in the area of Ethnic Rhinoplasty. In addition, Dr. Sturm-O’Brien has already completed the majority of the extensive requirements for board certification by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, having passed the rigorous and challenging written and oral AAFPRS board examinations.
During her medical training, Dr. Sturm-O’Brien received numerous awards for her surgical excellence, including the Outstanding Otolaryngology Medical Student Award. She has also co-authored and published noteworthy medical journal articles on head and neck surgical techniques, as well as facial plastic surgical techniques.
Dr. Sturm-O’Brien is active in multiple civic and charitable organizations that promote advocacy for women, including Houston Area Women’s Center, Greater Houston Area Women’s Chamber of Commerce and The Face Foundation.
She has hospital appointments at The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, MedCenter Ambulatory Surgery Center, Houston Hospital for Specialized Surgery and Memorial Hermann Hospital. She accepts insurance for medically necessary surgical procedures.
