If you have a double chin or a round baby face, courtesy of the gene pool, you've probably discovered that diet and exercise won't improve pockets of excess fat cells. But, Dr. Kridel has answers for these problems.
How does Dr. Kridel improve a double chin or 'fat face' with liposuction?
Doing submental lipectomy to remove excess fat under the chin, Dr. Kridel makes a short incision in the crease below your chin and removes excess fat and tightens the muscles. He also removes loose or excess skin on the upper part of your neck, then closes the incision and applies a small bandage. It's an hour-long procedure done under local anesthesia. You will go home the same day.
If Dr. Kridel does liposuction, he'll use a suction device to remove excess fat in the cheeks and chin area. This is often combined with a face lift or chin augmentation. For excess fat deposits in the face and neck area, liposuction may be necessary for the best results.
Dr. Kridel makes a tiny incision under the chin and "vacuums" out excess fat through a suction catheter. After he closes the incision, he applies a turban-like dressing, then removes stitches and bandages four days later.
What can I expect after facial liposuction?
Immediately, you'll see a more youthful, tighter jaw line. Jowls and double chins disappear. After five days, you can return to work. Don't resume strenuous activities until about 10 days postop. Any swelling will subside over several months, gradually revealing your new look.
