Having a double chin removed ( suction-assisted lipectomy ) can make an enormous difference in your appearance.
With age, fat is deposited gradually below the chin, forming a double chin. This ruins the beauty of the chin-neck line, and sometimes, it forms against the jaw line, creating sagging jowls. Either way, it makes you look old. Another aging sign is a "turkey wattle," which runs underneath the chin in vertical bands.
How does Dr. Kridel reduce a double chin?
Dr. Kridel can reduce some double chins with suction-assisted lipectomy, in which he makes an incision in the crease below the chin and removes excess fat. At the same time, he tightens the skin on the upper part of the neck. You will experience little post-op discomfort.
In some cases, suction-assisted lipectomy isn't enough, and a face lift and/or chin augmentation is necessary. This is especially true if your face is sagging at the jowls or you have a weak chin or "turkey-wattle." (See sections on Face Lift and Chin Augmentation.)
