After chin implant & nose surgery

To insert a chin implant, Dr. Kridel will make a small incision under your chin. He slips into place an implant made of medical-grade plastic and secures it with a few stitches. He puts a small bandage over your chin, and then removes it four days later. The day of surgery, you can return home, and normal activities can be resumed a week later. (Avoid strenuous exercise for three weeks and contact sports for six weeks.)

What will I experience after chin augmentation?
Chin implants have a good record for safety and patient satisfaction. Any pain is minimal and can be kept at bay with medication. You may have some trouble chewing at first so soft foods will be your staples for a week. After several weeks, you won't be able to feel the implant at all because it assumes the consistency and feel of your own tissue.
What kind of chin problems can be corrected?
If you have a chin that's too prominent, Dr. Kridel can reduce it during your chin implant. For a long chin caused by an abnormally large "chin button," he'll remove excess bone through a small incision under the chin.
