If your face has a droopy, exhausted look because of deep furrows between your brows or sagging eyebrows or forehead, you can probably benefit from forehead lift, which can make a major difference in your appearance.
Every year thousands of Americans have brow and forehead lifts, and are pleasantly surprised at how young and refreshed they look after recovery from surgery.
Brow and forehead lifts decrease deep forehead wrinkles and resupport and reshape drooping brows. This successfully rejuvenates your forehead and upper face. (You may think that your upper eyelids are the problem when actually, it's your forehead that's pushing down your eyelids and giving you a tired, angry look.)
The brow or forehead lift is done under general anesthesia, and often is part of several rejuvenating procedures performed in one operating day. In doing a forehead or brow lift, Dr. Kridel usually will remove part of the muscle that causes angry-looking vertical lines between the eyebrows. With the use of the endoscopic technique, your surgeon will make small, minimal incisions in the hair, and place a scope under the forehead area to clip frown muscles. Using sutures, the doctor pulls up the brow and forehead to a higher, more youthful level.
What's great about the endoscopic forehead lift technique is that it doesn't require an incision all the way across the forehead and scalp; thus, the hair is preserved, which is an important consideration for most patients. For about ten days after surgery, you'll have swelling and some bruising. Seven to fourteen days following surgery, you will go into the office and the doctor will remove your sutures.
