Laser Skin Resurfacing - Blemish and Scar Surgery

When you glance in the mirror, seeing a mole, wart, or red "spider" mark on your face may bother you.

That's why some people have a surgeon remove an unsightly blemish. Even port wine stains and other birthmarks can be removed or reduced.

Scar reduction may require several procedures staged over a period of time. Dr. Kridel may need to remove scar tissue, shift surrounding tissue, "break up" the scar into a zigzag pattern, and do skin grafting.

Dermabrasion or collagen injections are sometimes used to raise a scar to a normal level or mute its edges. The goal is to replace the unsightly spot with one that is more easily camouflaged.

If you have severe scars from an accident, burn, or cancer surgery, more extensive reconstructive surgery is probably in order.
