History: This 60-year-old patient came to us with concerns regarding the aging face. She was most concerned with the appearance of her neck; note the jowling she has developed and the laxity of the facial neck and skin.
Treatment: These concerns were improved with a face lift and submental liposuction to help eliminate the facial skin laxity and jowling. Additionally laser resurfacing to the eye area helped to diminish the wrinkles in those regions. Lower eyelid surgery decreased the fullness beneath her eyes.
Facial rejuvenation procedures aim to improve sagging facial skin, jowls and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and redraping skin. Often laser skin rejuvenation is performed to give the face lift a more polished look by removing fine lines and wrinkles. Recovery for back to work is 10 to 14 days, with return to more strenuous activity taking 2 weeks or more.
